1st day             LONDON-SOFIA

Arrival in Sofia.Tour of the city-centre. Stop at the cathedral Aleksander Nevski, followed by visit of the nearby St .Sofia church. The modern city of Sofia was named in the 14th century after the basilica of St. Sofia. Leisure time. Accommodation in hotel, dinner.

2nd day             SOFIA- RILA MONASTERY-PLOVDIV

After breakfast depart for the Monastery of Rila (the biggest in the Balkan Peninsula) and one of the most beautiful orthodox monasteries in the entire world. It is included as a  cultural heritage site of  UNESCO. The monastery is believed to have been founded by a hermit, John of Rila, in the 10th century, during the reign of the Bulgarian Tzar Peter (927-968). St John of Rila, whose mummified relics are exhibited for pilgrims in the main church, in fact lived in a cave about half-an-hour walk away from the present-day monastery complex. The monastery itself is considered to have been built by his scholars, who came to the place to be taught by him. The monastery is an impressive structure surrounded of one quadratic yard where in the middle rises the oldest building of the complex - an impressive stone tower. A small church, which is just a few years younger, stands next to the tower.
Having survived the times with the self-confidence of the most zealous guard of the Bulgarian spirit and language, it still fascinates present-day visitor with the pure and harmonious line of the buildings' exquisite colonnades, arches and vaults, spacious rooms richly decorated with murals and fretwork (date from XX to the XIX centuries)
Lunch on the side of “Rila river. Depart to Plovdiv, the second Bulgarian city, passing next to Maritza River .Accommodation in hotel. Dinner.

3rd day            PLOVDIV- BATCHKOVO MONASTERY-KAZANLUK

After breakfast, depart by bus to the monastery of Batchkovo , located in the charming vale of the Tchaya river .The monastery of Batchkovo is the second by its importance monastery in the country.
The monastery was founded in 1083 by the Byzantine military commander of Georgian origin, Grigorii Bakuriani. It was restored towards the end of the XVI century with the dining hall having been reconstructed in 1601, and the present-day church, Virgin Mary, – in 1604.
Return to Plovdiv. Lunch.
Depart to the historical center of Plovdiv, exploring the Old City which  features the amazing romantic architecture from the XIX century, visit the Ethnographic museum and the Roman theatre.
Continuing to town of Kazanluk , located in the gorgeous Valley of Roses we visit the ‘Museum of the Roses’ where guests can enjoy a lecture about the rose oil production followed by a rose tasting of rose jam and liqueur from the area.

4 day             KAZANLUK- NESSEBUR - VARNA

After breakfast, visit the Thracian tomb. The tomb dates from the late IV BC.
The tholos has a narrow corridor and a round burial chamber, both decorated with murals representing Thracian burial rituals and culture. These paintings are Bulgaria's best-preserved artistic masterpieces from the Hellenistic period. The Thracian tomb of Kazanluk was added to Unesco’s World Heritage list in 1979.
Depart for Nessebur. In 1983 Nessebur was put on the UNESCO List of World Cultural Monuments. Systematic archaeological studies, reinforcement, restoration and conservation have preserved the material traces of history here more than anywhere else. The small peninsula is a meeting place of bygone times. The millennia of uninterrupted human occupation (the earliest traces of human settlement date back to over 3000 years ago) have produced an impressive cultural layer
Lunch in a  fish restaurant. Guided    walking tour of the town.
Depart for Varna, the third city in Bulgaria, called the “The maritime capital” and “The Pearl of the Black Sea coast”
 In Varna you can find a great number of traces from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods.Accommodation in hotel. Dinner.

Nessebar
5th day             VARNA-POBITI KAMUNI-MADARA-SHUMEN

After the breakfast visit the Archeological museum of Varna where is shown the oldest gold in the world 4 years BC .Visit the Club of the Wine Lovers of Varna, unique in Bulgaria with its rich collection of 500 bottles of wine. Presentation of traditions of the wine production in the country will take place, followed by wine tasting. Lunch.
Depart to the town of Shomen. On the way visit of one nature phenomena “Pobiti Kamuni” and the “Madara Horseman “.
The Madara Horsemen   represent the figure of a knight triumphing over a lion and is carved into a 100-meter-high cliff near the village of Madara in north-east Bulgaria. Madara was the principal sacred place of the First Bulgarian Empire before Bulgaria's conversion to Christianity in the 9th century. The inscriptions beside the sculpture tell of events that occurred between A.D. 705 and 801.Arrival in Shumen , visit the oldest mosque in Bulgaria.

Accommodation  in hotel. Diner, followed by  Folklore performance.
6th day             SHUMEN-ARBANASSI-VELIKO TURNOVO-GABROVO (ETARA)

After the breakfast depart for Arbanassi, place attracting many visitors with his ancient houses from the XVII century. The oldest of Arbanassi's five churches is The Birth of Christ (1637 - 1649), dug into the ground without a belfry and with hidden cupolas, but hiding a genuine art gallery with over 3,500 stunningly realistic figures and Biblical scenes, painted by unknown artists throughout the ages. Lunch and continue to Veliko Turnovo .
Veliko Turnovo, one of the most ancient Bulgarian towns, is situated amphitheatrically on 4 hills - Tsarevets, Trapezitsa, Momina Krepost and Sveta Gora, the ridges of which were indeed the deeply inclined steep banks of the meanders of the river Yantra. Tsarevets was the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom in the 12th century AD. The fateful events from the 13 centuries old Bulgarian State are related to this town, such as the Second Bulgarian Kingdom's apogee in the 12th and 13th centuries AD and the adoption of the First Bulgarian Constitution in 1874. Discover the historic landmarks of the former citadel on Tzarevets.

Continuing for Etara, village  museum located in the Balkan. Accommodation in  the hotel, dinner.
  Arbanassi
7th day  ETARA-TROYAN MONASTERY-KOPRIVCHTITSA
Koprivshitsa  
 After  breakfast, visit the open air museum unique in Bulgaria .The workshops and shops located on the opposite left bank make up the so-called arts and crafts street. The two-storey houses are exact copies of the houses of famous old masters, with shops and workshops on the ground floor and the living quarters above them. In this case, too, the various mechanisms, the arrangement of the workshops and the manual tools are completely authentic.The shops sell pottery, leather items, gold, silver and copper articles, old Bulgarian music instruments, etc. Continue to the monastery  of Troyan .Then  Monastery, is known above all for the creative work of Zahari Zograph who painted both the exterior and the interior (a rare practice for the time) of the main church built in 1835, 7 km from the town of Troyan. Lunch. Depart to the town of Koprivshtitsa through the pass Beklemeto. Situated in the recesses of Sredna Gora Mountain, the town of Koprivshtitsa stands at 1060 meters altitude where you can see more than 100 ancient houses from XVIII   and XIX centuries. Leisure time. Accommodation in  hotel and dinner. 
8th day             KOPRIVCHTITSA - SOFIA - LONDON
After the breakfast, depart to Sofia. Visit the National Historical museum located in Boiana -an elegant residential district. Transfer to the airport.
